Soho House Charleston

Known for its laid-back Southern style, salt marshes, coastal channels, and quaint, picturesque neighborhoods boast bold color palettes, lush gardens, and cobblestone streets. The city’s cultural fabric, steeped in tradition and Southern hospitality, is as vibrant as its landscape—where sweet tea and seersucker suits mix with shrimping, boating, and the ebb and flow of local rivers.

Charleston’s unique blend of history and beauty is further enriched by the period of prosperity and trade with England, earning it the nickname "Little London”. This project draws inspiration from Charleston's rich architectural heritage, particularly the English Colonial style that flourished during the Victorian and Queen Anne periods. These grand homes were designed to entertain, showcasing treasures from across Europe and reflecting an air of sophistication, relaxation, and genteel hospitality. The design honors this legacy through the use of original structural elements like exposed timber beams and brick walls, creating a timeless foundation that connects the past with the present.

Incorporating natural materials such as rattan, floral patterns, and abundant indoor greenery, the design reflects the relaxed, eclectic nature of Charleston’s interior spaces. Soft color palettes, stained timber, and a mix of raw, honest materials create a layered, inviting atmosphere that mirrors the city’s character.
